The CW, who has found success with the adaptation of L.J. Smith's VAMPIRE DIARIES, is returning to the author for its latest pilot. Deadline.com reports that the network has tapped DIARIES co-creator/exec producer Kevin Williamson to adapt Smith's SECRET CIRCLE, a trilogy of books that follows a young woman who discovers she is a witch upon moving to a new town.

Williamson penned the script with Andrew Miller. Alloy Entertainment, WBTV and CBS TV Studios are producing. Miller, Williamson, Elizabeth Craft, Sarah Fain and Alloys' Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo are the exec producers.
