DECODE Ent. has made a raft of sales to TV2 Denmark. Two innovative series created and co-produced with Aardman Animations, CHOP SOCKY CHOOKS and PLANET SKETCH have been acquired by the Danish broadcaster alongside DECODE’s pre-school show THE SAVE-UMS.

Josh Scherba, sales exec at DECODE Ent., said, “PLANET SKETCH is going from strength to strength and we’re confident that CHOP SOCKY CHOOKS will have a similar impact. THE SAVE-UMS! also continues to be popular, and it’s great to have three of our shows lined up for TV2’s kids schedule.”

Aimed at 7-11 year olds, the 52x22 3D animated series CHOP SOCKY CHOOKS follows Chooks, a crack team of kung fu chickens – Chuckie Chan, Chick P and KO Joe. The three plucky heroes work undercover in Wasabi World, a towering shopping mall run by their arch-enemy Dr Wasabi, mutated piranha and head of an evil retail empire.

In production for Cartoon Network and Teletoon, CHOP SOCKY CHOOKS is DECODE and Aardman’s second co-production following PLANET SKETCH, which has also been snapped up by TV2.

Commissioned by CiTV and Teletoon and featuring a quirky collection of madcap new characters, PLANET SKETCH has been acquired by a raft of international broadcasters since its debut at MIPCOM. Cartoon Network Asia Pacific and Cartoon Network Latin America have recently followed ABC Australia and South African broadcaster M-Net in acquiring the 13x11 series.

Aimed at 7-11 year olds, PLANET SKETCH stars a cast of recurring characters, which include: the Street Rappers, a group of mean and moody dudes, who like playing soppy games when no-one is looking; The Gnaughty Gnomes, cheeky little garden gnomes who delight in playing gross-out pranks on innocent passers-by; and the Parping Ponies, two horses who never manage to hold down a decent job due to flatulence issues.

THE SAVE-UMS! is commissioned by Discovery’s The Learning Channel and Discovery Kids in the U.S. and by the CBC & Radio-Canada in Canada. It can be seen around the world on the U.K.’s FIVE, France 5, Canal J in France and Super RTL in Germany, the Disney Channel in Taiwan, TV12 Singapore and MBC2 in the Middle East.

Headquartered in Toronto, with offices in London, DECODE Ent. Inc. is one of the world’s leading producers and distributors of television programming and interactive content for the children, family and youth markets. For more information, visit www.decode-ent.com.
