Thomas the Tank Engine Producer Pulls Into Nick, Par & Disney
Britt Allcroft, producer and rights holder of THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE, has signed distribution deals that will send the little engine that could and other properties to Nickelodeon, Paramount and Disney. The deal with Nickelodeon will see THOMAS aired on the station daily and ties into the release of the feature based on the TV series entitled THOMAS AND THE MAGIC RAILROAD. A 15-year Paramount pact will bring 39 30-minute episodes of the pre-school animated MUMFIE to video. The distribution deal for North America and Canada will see at least two videos per year for the first two years of the agreement. In a separate deal, Allcroft's U.K.-based production subsidiary, Media Merchants, will produce an additional 104 20-minute episodes of ART ATTACK for Disney Latin America. Due for delivery by December, the kids' craft show will be dubbed in South American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. "These new agreements with three major corporations further demonstrates the strength and appeal of our rights portfolio in the huge American markets," said William Harris, Britt Allcroft's managing director. "The deals also reflect our determination to maximize the penetration of the portfolio across merchandise, languages and territories."
