Vodka Capital and Televisa Home Entertainment have entered into a strategic partnership and co-production agreement for Bugsted – an innovative new IP comprised of a 13X1 mini-series and 100-level iOS/Android App.

Targeted at kids 8-11, Bugsted represents a new approach for developing children’s entertainment brands by leveraging the popularity of gaming apps, the awareness reach of broadcasters and licensing partners’ potential for product exploitation in reduced timescales.

Victor M. Lopez, Vodka Capital’s CEO comments, “With Jelly Jamm broadcasted in over 150 countries, once again we have demonstrated our capabilities in developing international kids entertainment brands.  Given our experience in interactive and gaming, we decided to develop Bugsted as a new model for launching kids IPs quickly to market in close partnerships with TVs and key licensing partners from day one.”

In Bugsted, it’s your mission to guide mutated bugs that have arrived on earth by mistake back to the moon.  The gaming app offers addictive and engaging game play comprised of obstacle challenges and physics based games while the mini-series offers comedic insight into the irreverent little bugs and their obsession of getting back to the moon.

Maca Rotter, Director General of Televisa Consmer Products says, “Clearly app-based properties are demonstrating the capability of becoming strong entertainment brands.  Vodka Capital’s Bugsted not only is great content, but also offers a compelling business model to break-away from the clutter and leverage all our strengths as a leading broadcaster and licensing agent.”

As part of the strategic partnership, Televisa will be the premiere FreeTV broadcaster in Mexico and will serve as Licensing Agent. Bugsted is schedule to launch in spring 2013.
