Syfy is working on a redux of the '60s detective series, RANDALL AND HOPKIRK (DECEASED), reports VARIETY. ITV Studios is producing the new take with Josh Bycel (SCRUBS) and Jonathan Fener (AMERICAN DAD) writing and exec producing the pilot.

Jaffe/Braunstein Entertainment's Howard Braunstein is also exec producing.

The story follows deceased cop Hopkirk's return from the dead in an effort to help his partner Randall.

Dennis Spooner created the original series, which starred Mike Pratt and Kenneth Cope.
