Syfy has picked up five episodes of comedy series, OUTER SPACE ASTRONAUTS, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. The live-action/2D-3D animation hybrid will debut on Dec. 8.

Created by Russell Barrett, the show follows eight military delinquents who travel around the galaxy on the O.S.S. Oklahoma. Barrett will exec produce with David O. Russell and Scott Puckett.

Barrett created the entire series in his home with friends Adam Clinton, Stephanie Clinton, Jay Wendorff and Dana Kirk.
