A new animation featuring Sesame Street favorite Abby Cadabby has just begun airing on the UK’s Channel 5 Milkshake! Kids’ block.

Abby’s Flying Fairy School is a CGI animation from Sesame Workshop that follows Abby as she goes to Fairy School, accompanied by a gang of new friends that include genies, trolls, giants, imps and a pet “gerbilcorn” called Niblet. Ms. Sparklenose – their very wise and very tiny teacher – leads the way and in between day trips to the zoo to feed dragons and visits from the Tooth Fairy and Captain Hook, the fairies-in-training learn that helping one another is the best way to overcome difficulties in life.

The show represents the first time a Sesame Street character has been transformed into CGI and the imagery has been created by Peter De Séve, designer for the Ice Age movie franchise. The series has enjoyed considerable acclaim, picking up the Best Animated Series award in the preschool category and Best Preschool Programme in the viewer’s choice category at the 2012 Kidscreen Awards.

The series, which airs every Saturday and Sunday on Milkshake!, is set to bolster even further Sesame Street’s brand presence in the UK . A top class licensing program, managed by CPLG, includes Hasbro for master toy as well as a host of other licensees, including most recently Brecrest (babywear), Cooneen (nightwear/underwear), Corsair (toiletries) and Half Moon Bay (gifting).

"Abby’s Flying Fairy School is such a lovely show – both the scripts and the animation are of the highest quality and it teaches preschoolers that by working together they are able to solve problems. It is sure to be a big hit with little ones and parents alike!" says Vickie O’Malley of CPLG.
