Entertainment Weekly reports that cult series ROME is coming to the big screen. ROME creator/executive Bruno Heller is penning the big screen sequel script. Morning Light Productions is producing the flick.

Kevin McKidd (Lucius Vorenus) and Ray Stevenson (Titus Pullo) are expected to return for the film, which will be set in Germany four years after the series' ending.

Morning Light is looking for a director and studio for the project. HBO Films will not be involved.

The series followed Caesar as he leads the invasion of Gaul, which led to the first Emperor Augustus.

Excellent series that ended way too soon. It was destined for the big screen and will be highly anticipated!
