pasi (Philippine animation studio, inc.) and Nelvana have teamed up to co-produce 13 episodes of COMMITTED, an animated series based on the popular Michael Fry comic strip. The United Feature Syndicate comic strip is a chronicle of the day-to-day life of a working mom with three children and her stay-at-home writer husband. Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara and Andrea Martin are providing the lead voices for the series. The new toon is being produced for Fox Family Channel and CTV in Canada. This co-production between pasi and Nelvana is the first animated project to be covered under the recently passed co-production treaty between the Philippines and Canada. Under the deal, pasi will provide animation services from layout through digital ink and paint, in its Metro Manila-based studio. "We have always been impressed by pasi’s high quality work," said Pat Burns, Nelvana’s vice president of production. "We are thrilled to be associated with pasi on COMMITTED. Its world-class services have already been used on such Nelvana productions as BOB & MARGARET and NED’S NEWT." The partnership was shepherded by Burns and pasi creative director Frank Saperstein.
