THE VENTURE BROS., a new animated special from Noodlesoup Productions, premieres Sunday, February 16 at 11:30 pm on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block. It's a spoof of the old-fashioned JONNY QUEST cartoons from the mid-sixties, as well as THE HARDY BOYS and TOM SWIFT boys' adventure novels of the past. With elements of spy and science fiction, the Venture brothers -- Hank and Dean Venture -- travel with their father, renowned scientist Doctor Venture, to New York for the unveiling of a fantastic new invention at the United Nations. Unbeknownst to them, the Ventures are being pursued by not one but two villains, the deranged Otaku Senzuri, an Asian businessman with a suspicious curiosity about the new invention, and The Monarch, a winged villain with a longstanding grudge against Dr. Venture. The Big Apple presents other new experiences for the dimwitted Venture boys, who end up being robbed and lost on the subway before falling into the arms of a New York "working girl." Lucky for them, Dr. Venture's brawny bodyguard Brock Samson is hell-bent on defending his charges -- with extreme violence if necessary. Noodlesoup was founded in New York by Jeff Nodelman two years ago. In addition to commercials, and gaming animation, the studio produces the Warner Bros. Online series GOTHAM GIRLS, using its own proprietary animation system.
