Nickelodeon To Deliver ‘Nickmas’ Holiday Specials

Nickmas is on through most of December 2003, as the kid channel delivers nightly primetime presents programming marathons and throughout the month.

The holiday shows includes premieres of THE ADVENTURES OF JIMMY NEUTRON, BOY GENIUS/”Holly Jolly Jimmy,” ROCKET POWER/"A Rocket X-mas" and ROMEO!/"A Lil' Som'en Some'en for Christmas"-- along with holiday favorites galore. Treats for tots include BOB THE BUILDER festive one-hour extravaganza, “A Christmas to Remember,” with Elton John voicing a musician who steps in for an ailing singer to save the day with a Christmas concert.

Nickelodeon lights the menorah and heaps the basket with matzo, too, celebrating Chanukah in special episodes of AS TOLD BY GINGER (Dec. 17) and RUGRATS (Dec.18) and Kwanzaa with THE RUGRATS (Dec. 26).

In the holiday premiere of THE ADVENTURES OF JIMMY NEUTRON, BOY GENIUS/”Holly Jolly Jimmy” titled "Holly Jolly Jimmy," Jimmy is convinced that Santa Claus does not exist. He travels to the North Pole with Carl and Sheen where they discover a toy factory, and when Jimmy's homing device malfunctions, it emits a blast of energy that hits the source of the signal: Santa Claus. Jimmy must now put his doubts aside, load up the hypercube and try to save Christmas.

ROCKET POWER’s holiday episode, “A Rocket X-mas,” finds Reggie and Otto so obsessed with a dog-walking service to earn cash for gifts that they fail to stop and smell the evergreen, while dad Ray fixates on holiday traditions and grows annoyed with his disinterested kids. Eventually, all eyes are opened to the notion that Christmas isn’t just about presents and traditions; it’s about family and appreciating loved ones.

The message echoes in ROMEO!/"with "A Lil' Som'en Some'en for Christmas," as Percy is stuck at an airport outside of Chicago, desperately trying to make it home for the holiday -- and unaware that Romeo and Louis inadvertently have allowed a watch that their late mother purchased one Christmas for Percy to be donated to Louis’ former foster home.

Following is a detailed rundown of the Nickmas schedule. All shows are ET/PT with each night’s telecast at 8:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted:

SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS/"Patchy the Pirate Presents the SpongeBob SquarePants Christmas Special" --Nobody in Bikini Bottom has heard of Christmas or Santa Claus until Sandy lets them in on this surface tradition. SpongeBob wants to bring Christmas to Bikini Bottom this year and his enthusiasm is infectious. Everyone except a scoffing Squidward gets into the picture, waiting for Santa to arrive on the big day. (Airs Dec. 2, 13 25)

THE FAIRLY ODDPARENTS/”Christmas Every Day” -- The globe is put into gridlock after Timmy wishes for 365 days of Christmas a year. Santa's overworked, Mom and Dad can't work and the other holidays are furious that jolly old Saint Nick is getting all the attention, not to mention all the holiday magic. The other holidays set out to take Santa down for good. Since Wanda and Cosmo are magically depleted during this Season, Timmy must go it alone to the North Pole in order to save Santa and put the calendar back on schedule. (Airs Dec. 13, 15 & 25)

HEY ARNOLD X-mas/ “The Christmas Show” -- Arnold draws Mr. Hyunh's name for the boarding house Secret Santa. To capture the true spirit of Christmas, Arnold tries to reunite the lonely boarder with the daughter he hasn't seen in over 20 years. When Arnold and his friends succeed, Mr. Hyunh and the boarding house clan have the best Christmas ever. (Airs Dec. 4, 13 & 25)

BOB THE BUILDER/“A Christmas to Remember” – This one-hour festive extravaganza features Elton John as musician John, who steps in for an ailing singer to save the Christmas concert. Bob's twin brother Tom is coming home from the Artic for the festivities, and Bob's busy building the stage for Lenny and the Lazers' concert. But Tom has been unavoidably delayed, and Lenny is losing his voice! (Airs Dec. 5 & 19, 9:00 am & 1:00 pm)
