Muppets To Send Letters To Santa This Christmas
NBC will air a new Muppets Christmas special this year: LETTERS TO SANTA -- A MUPPETS CHRISTMAS, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.
Whoopi Goldberg, Tony Sirico and Steve Schirripa (THE SOPRANOS), Richard Griffiths (HARRY POTTER) and Madison Pettis will star alongside Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, Miss Piggy and the rest of the gang.
The special will be set on Christmas Eve, when Kermit and the rest of the Muppets mistakenly divert three letters on their way to Santa Claus, which sends the group frantically trying to bring a happy Christmas to the kids whose wishes were lost.
Songwriter Paul Williams (THE MUPPET MOVIE, THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL) will compose new songs for the special, from Muppet Productions.
Last year, ABC aired ELMO'S CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN with the Muppets' SESAME STREET counterparts as well as Sirico, Schirripa, Ben Stiller and Alicia Keys.
