Monster Distributes will be taking its animated preschool series PICME to NATPE for the first time. From Irish-based Jammedia, PICME is an award-winning interactive animation where a child literally stars in his/her own cartoon. Commissioned by RTE, PICME creates an interaction between broadcaster and audience. Great emphasis is put on the stories themselves, so that children who are not in the story also get huge enjoyment out of it.

The series was RTE’s biggest commission to date, with the second series commissioned just a few episodes into the first season, and a further 52 episodes were recently commissioned. Sales include Nickelodeon U.K., Animania in the U.S., KIKA Germany, Teletoon France and Medialink in the Middle East. Series 2 is in production for delivery later this year.

Animated series JUNGLE BEAT (13x5), from Zimbabwean production company Sunrise Media, has just been sold to Rai Cinema Italy, Orf Austria as well as Planete Spain and Lagardere Images in the Middle East. The non-dialogue, first animated series from Zimbabwe features a cast of animals including Giraffe, Monkey, Bee and Tortoise in bizarre situations with hilarious results.

Animated preschool series I’M AN ANIMAL is in production, with the first 26 episodes being finished just in time for NATPE, and another 26 completing production by June. From Oscar-nominated Brown Bag Films, each episode features a different animal, who discusses where he lives and what he does. The series has already sold to Cable TV Hong Kong, Discovery U.K., Hungama TV India, TV Ontario, Cartoon Network Australia and Sanctuary U.K.

Monster’s latest animated series acquisition, WEMMICKS (4x30) is also keeping Monster busy, with immediate sales to Gospel HQ in Japan and CBN Russia.
