MarVista Entertainment Acquires A Very Wompkee Christmas

MarVista Entertainment has acquired the worldwide television distribution rights for A VERY WOMPKEE CHRISTMAS. The one-hour 3D animated special began sales at MIPCOM. Sony Wonder has the U.S. home entertainment rights. The story follows the littlest Wompkee Twig as she hopes her Christmas wish to fly like the others will come true.

The elfin-like WOMPKEES characters were created by songwriter producers Con Fullam and Maura Clarke in 1994 and debuted as a puppet show on local TV in Maine. The show inspired a licensing initiative that included plush toys, books, audio tapes and, in 1995, a position in the prestigious Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade.

MarVista Entertainment was founded in 2003 by Whamo Entertainment principals, Joseph Szew, Fernando Szew and Mar Gaya along with former PorchLight svp of worldwide sales, Michael Jacobs, and George Port, founder and former ceo of Anchor Bay Entertainment. The company is in the business of distributing, producing and merchandising entertainment content worldwide and on all platforms. MarVista is headquartered in Venice, California with branch offices in Boston and Barcelona, Spain.
