New Line has hired Jason Richman to pen a feature adaptation of MACGYVER, reports RISKY BUSINESS. The ABC series, starring Richard Dean Anderson, followed the adventures of a secret agent who knew just how to get out of any sticky situation with some resourceful thinking. The show ran from 1985 to 1992.

Raffaella De Laurentiis, Martha De Laurentiis and series creator Lee Zlotoff are the producers. Dino De Laurentiis is the exec producer.

Richman wrote uncredited takes on BLACK HAWK DOWN and RUSH HOUR 3 and penned Chris Rock's BAD COMPANY and a BEVERLY HILLS COP 4 draft.
