TV-Loonland and Nelvana, in association with KirchMedia, announced at MIPCOM the international co-production of the children’s classic, HEIDI. HEIDI will be adapted into a new and highly stylized animated feature film and television series. HEIDI, written by Swiss author Johanna Spyri, was first published in 1880. The book has been translated into over 50 languages with over 100 million copies sold worldwide. The feature film HEIDI is a German-Canadian co-production, produced by Germany’s TV-Loonland and Canada’s Nelvana, in association with KirchMedia’s Taurus Produktion of Germany. The director is Albert Hanan Kaminski, creative director is Ray Jafelice of Nelvana and artist and illustrator Rudolf Stussi serves as background painter of both the feature film and the television series. Stussi also drew and illustrated the newly published, international edition of HEIDI.
