EM.TV AG has signed a comprehensive pay-TV deal with Frontage Satellite TV, the Nigerian satellite distributor, to broadcast an English-language children's channel under the Junior brand on cable and satellite.

Frontage Satellite TV will purchase a total of 962 half-hour episodes from the Junior program library over three years for the new pay-TV channel. In addition, the company is taking a wide range of 30-second short clips, as entertaining interstitials to be inserted between individual programs. These clips star three lively animated characters – JUNIOR, JAZ AND JANE – produced in-house by EM.TV.

"Alongside the Junior program blocks, which are broadcast in 13 countries around the globe, we have now succeeded in establishing the Junior brand also in Africa,” said Patrick Elmendorff, president of TV distribution for EM.TV AG.

EM.TV AG produces and distributes worldwide programs for children and youth markets, as well as markets the merchandising rights to the shows. With around 26,000 half-hour episodes, the company’s library is one of the world’s largest. The second strategic core segment, Sport, encompasses the European merchandising rights for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany, as well as shareholdings in sports broadcaster DSF and the online platform Sport1. EM.TV also holds 100% of PLAZAMEDIA, Germany’s largest TV production company in the sport sector. For more information, visit www.em-ag.de.
