INDIGO Brings Tenali Raman To Nick
INDIGO has signed a deal with Nickelodeon Asia for its Indian animated series THE ADVENTURES OF TENALI RAMAN. The series will air on Nickelodeon’s Philippine and Asia feed reaching out to viewers in the Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Korea and Singapore. It is due to air in November 2004.
The series premiered on Cartoon Network in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in June 2003. It has created waves in the regional animation industry and has proved to be an unparalleled hit with Indian audiences. Toonz has inked a DVD deal with the Times Multimedia Group for merchandising in India and the series was broadcast on five regional language channels of the ETV network, the largest television network in India. Overseas deals have been concluded with CBC VOD in Canada, Apple Tree in Thailand and Tiger Ent. who will be releasing the series worldwide on DVD.
THE ADVENTURES OF TENALI RAMAN (26x11) takes a trip through history to a world of monarchs and palaces. Based on the character from Indian folklore Tenali, the King’s favorite courtier finds his popularity brings him many enemies, however, like all heroes, Tenali battles back and triumphs with wit and charm over his adversaries.
