The U.S. VOD premiere of THE GUYVER, a sci-fi anime legend, starts Oct. 26, 2006, on Anime Network.

Lurking under the face of everyday life lies a dark world of pain and destruction controlled by a sinister brotherhood that hide its fangs behind masks of humanity, known as the Chronos Corp. While investigating a mysterious explosion near his school, high school student Sho Fukamachi happens upon the Chronos Corp.'s greatest weapon — a techno-organic suit of bioarmor known as the Guyver. Determined to conceal its secrets at any cost, Chronos' army of horrific bio-monsters relentlessly pursue Sho. With nowhere to run, Sho is forced to call upon the fearsome power of the Guyver and rip his opponents limb from limb in a desperate struggle for survival.

Yoshiki Takaya’s THE GUYVER first gained popularity in 1985 when the saga appeared within the pages of the Japanese comic anthology SHONEN CAPTAIN. The animated version of THE GUYVER was released in two separate OVA series in Japan with Takaya personally involved in both productions. The franchise has also spawned two live-action films (Screaming Mad George’s GUYVER in 1991, and Steve Wang’s GUYVER: DARK HERO in 1994).

For those who do not subscribe to VOD, ADV Films is also offering the GUYVER VOLUME 1 DVD release on Nov. 14.

In the 14 years since its inception, ADV Films (www.advfilms.com) has become the #1 producer/distributor of anime outside of Japan and has the largest English-language anime library in the world. Parent company, A.D. Vision Inc., encompasses a multitude of complementary media divisions, spanning publishing, television, licensing and merchandising and continues to expand into new areas. Headquartered in Houston, the company has offices in Europe and Japan.
