Fuzzy Tales Gets Second Season, Heads Down Under
Producer Brain Power Studio has won a second season commission from Canada’s CBC, hot on the heels of the first season broadcast which began at the end of last month, with the show quickly proving a hit with preschool audiences and their families.
In addition, distributor Bejuba! has concluded a deal with Disney Channel Australia for the first series and is in talks with further international broadcasters.
Fuzzy Tales is a preschool show that uses "creative casting" to put a modern twist on classic fairy-tales and nursery rhymes. Little Red Riding Hood as played by a duckling, Tugger the dog is cast as a Prince and sleepy Lizard Louis only takes roles that don’t interfere with his napping. A blend of live-action animals and beautiful animation, Fuzzy Tales offers a fresh, spirited approach to mixed media that is adorably irresistible.
The series takes place in Fuzzy Phil's Pet Shop. Every afternoon, after the customers have gone, these adorable pets in waiting gather together for their own special story-time. With Gertie the Guinea Pig as Narrator, the animals act out stories to make each other laugh and giggle.
Tatiana Kober, President of Bejuba! Entertainment said: “We have had an excellent reaction to the series from both buyers and children. The ‘Aww’ factor is outstanding! We have begun closing sales and are very pleased to have the Disney Channel in Australia already on board.”
Beth Stevenson, Founder of Brain Power Studio added: “We had an incredible amount of fun making this series! Filming actors that can give you a cuddle in between takes is wonderful. Also by combining the natural charm of live action animals with the creative animation from Gallus Entertainment, we achieved a look that is both nostalgic for shows we grew up with, like “Hammy Hamster” and current for young audiences now.”
