To highlight the release of ROBOTS in theaters March 11, 2005, FOX will air a special, titled ASSEMBLING “ROBOTS:” THE MAGIC, THE MUSIC AND THE COMEDY, premiering March 4 at 8:00 pm.

From the creators of ICE AGE comes a behind-the-scenes look at the computer animation process for the film. The half-hour show also offers commentary from the filmmakers and an exclusive first look at an extended scene from the movie. ASSEMBLING “ROBOTS” is complete with interviews with the all-star, award-winning cast and the world-premiere of the ROBOTS music video.

In ROBOTS, based on a William Joyce book, Rodney Copperbottom (Ewan McGregor) is considered a genius inventor in a world populated entirely by mechanical beings. A small town robot, Rodney dreams of two things: making the world a better place and meeting his idol, the master inventor Bigweld (Mel Brooks). Rodney embarks on a journey to Robot City and along the way he encounters a variety of characters, including Cappy (Halle Berry), a beautiful executive `bot with whom Rodney is instantly smitten; the nefarious corporate tyrant, Ratchet (Greg Kinnear), who locks horns with Rodney; and a group of misfit `bots known as the Rusties, led by Fender (Robin Williams) and Piper Pinwheeler (Amanda Bynes).
