ABC has formally announced that it will air Walt Disney Animation Studios' holiday special PREP AND LANDING this holiday season, according to VARIETY. The half-hour special follows the teams of Santa's elves that prepare homes for his arrival. A senior elf (Dave Foley) is partnered with a rookie (Derek Richardson) on a mission with unforeseen challenges.

John Lasseter is the exec producing, with Dorothy McKim on as producer. HOW TO HOOK UP YOUR HOME THEATER directors Kevin Deters and Stevie Wermers-Skelton are helming.

The special was originally pitched by BOLT director Chris Williams or the Disney short programs, but Lasseter and ABC development exec felt the idea would work as an excellent holiday special.
