CW has ordered up a full reason of new series THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, reports VARIETY. The teen soup will receive nine more episodes for its first season. The top CW show is averaging a 1.8 rating/5 share with adults 18-49, while scoring 3.9 million viewers overall. For women 12-34, the show has been a consistent contender for winning its timeslot.

Created by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, VAMPIRE DIARIES follows two warring vampire brothers who have set their fangs on an orphaned high school girl.
