Atomic Cartoons will roll into Cannes with its latest cartoon, CONEY ISLAND CARNEYS, created by animation artists Garnet Syberg-Olsen and Jared Deal. The series centers on the lives of eccentric carnival characters. According to Atomic, the series serves as a comedic social commentary, illustrating that being ‘different’ is okay, and sometimes even better than being ‘normal.' "The show’s message is wrapped up in a blanket of verbal gags and nonsensical slapstick, much like a hotdog on a stick covered in corn batter," stated Atomic Cartoons’ VP of co-production, Trevor Bentley. "There is a void in the market these days for off-beat-comedy cartoons and CARNEYS fills that void. Garnet and Jared have created a series that reaches back to the Golden Age of cartoons when things were funny and didn’t have to follow rules made by committee. They’ve brought the classic way of making cartoons into today’s edgier environment. Bottom line, this is a cartoon for cartoon lovers."
