NBC has greenlit six addition episodes of CHUCK for its third season, reports VARIETY. The cult series is a fan favorite, but scores low ratings. Last year. a Subway sandwich buying campaign from fans impressed execs enough to bring the show back.

Originally the network ordered 13 episodes, which where planned to start airing in March after the Olympics. However, with SOUTHLAND axed from the schedule and insiders saying TRAUMA won't be renewed, it looks like NBC is eying an earlier return for CHUCK.

Warner Bros. TV produces the show. Josh Schwartz, Chris Fedak, McG and Scott Rosenbaum are the exec producers.
