Following the announcement yesterday that the Tokyo Anime Fair had been cancelled, now its competitor Anime Contents Expo announced its cancellation as well, reports Variety. The event was planned to run from March 26-27, but nuclear plant meltdown concerns, rolling blackouts and transportation problems due to the March 11 earthquake and tsunami have pushed organizers to cancel the event.

Anime Contents Expo was put together by anime and manga publishers that backed out of the Tokyo Anime Fair in protest over Fair sponsor Tokyo metropolitan government's new law that would curb sexual content in anime and manga. Expo organizers include Aniplex, Animate, Kadokawa Publishing, King Records, Geneon Universal Ent. Japan, Frontier Works, Marvelous Ent. and Media Factory.
