TELETOON Sneaks Peeks Throughout August

Highlighting the month of September on TELETOON will be a host of sneak peeks at new fall series as well as world and Canadian premieres.

At 7:00 pm, Aug. 21 will mark the Canadian premiere of THE LIFE & TIMES OF JUNIPER LEE. For the most part, Juniper June Lee leads a pretty normal life by having fun with friends, dealing with her overzealous younger brother and worrying about school work; except that in addition to her everyday tween escapades, Juniper is the Te Xuan Ze (pronounced Te-zuan-ze and means the Protector in Chinese). A member of her family has always had both the honour and burden of keeping the equilibrium between the real and magical world. Now its Junipers turn, a responsibility she reluctantly takes on because shed rather just enjoy herself as a kid. On any given day she may have to skip out on her best friends birthday party to discipline and smack down some unruly magical creatures like super-strong leprechauns and gnomes.

Aug. 28 will see the Canadian premiere of THE GRIM ADVENTURES OF BILLY AND MANDY at 7:00 pm. The show centers on two young kids, happy-go-lucky, dumb-as-a-stump Billy, and cynical, deadpan Mandy, who become best friends with the Grim Reaper after beating him in an otherworldly limbo contest. Together, this unlikely trio handles typical suburban challenges school, family and dealing with unwanted visitors from the Underworld and beyond.

The new GERALD MCBOING BOING will make its world premiere on Monday, August 29 at 3:00 pm. This Canadian produced series, is based on the book by Ted Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, and tells the story of a six-year-old boy who communicates using sound instead of words. Together with his parents and best friends Jacob and Janine, Geralds world is filled with non-stop gags and giggles. Gerald has a real ding, ding, ding for life, and uses his incredible sound making abilities to communicate, as well as to help people see the world in a new light. GERALD MCBOING BOING will air Monday through Friday at 3:00 pm.

TELETOON also gets ready for its new after-school lineup, starting a week before back-to-school begins. DUCK DODGERS, WHATS NEW SCOOBY-DOO?, CODENAME KIDS NEXT DOOR and FOSTERS HOME FOR IMAGINARY FRIENDS start Aug. 29 at 4:00 pm. On Wednesday, August 31, TELETOON will end the month right with a full two hours of season premieres.

The F Night is the best of The Detour lineup on TELETOON, which airs Fridays starting at 9:00 pm. The lineup includes FAMILY GUY, BROMWELL HIGH, FUTURAMA, THE VENTURE BROTHERS, AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE, THE BRAK SHOW, HARVEY BIRDMAN ATTORNEY AT LAW, SONS OF BUTCHERS and STATION X.

Viewers can also catch a sneak peek of THE WRONG COAST on Aug. 19, at 9:30 pm. The show is a 13-episode stop-motion series using the backdrop of an entertainment news magazine. While the show focuses mostly on movie and TV parodies, it also includes segments typical to celebrity magazine programs completely fabricated gossip, celebrity interviews, remotes, and Hollywood headlines. In between the hilarious spoofs and parodies are funny little glimpses into the behind-the-scenes drama between two egomaniacal hosts Mark Hamills Jameson Burkright, and Canadian comedian Kathryn Greenwoods Debbie Sue Ashanti-Melendez each wanting to be the top banana.
