Shotgun Coming out of Beta at SIGGRAPH 2010 With Over 170 Clients Worldwide

Press Release from Shotgun Software

Shotgun Highlights Integration Partners, Launches Open Source Initiative for Developers/Studios, Hosts a Developer User Group and Previews Forthcoming Version 2.1

Los Angeles, CA (July 21, 2010) -- Shotgun Software will formally release Shotgun at SIGGRAPH 2010; the production tracking and collaboration system has been in private beta for over a year and has already amassed a dedicated client base of over 170 visual effects, video game and post production facilities. Shotgun Software will be exhibiting at booth #1218 during the SIGGRAPH Conference at the Los Angeles Convention Center, July 27-29th, alongside integration partners Tweak Software and PipelineFX.

Shotgun is a flexible and scalable web-based production tracking system designed specifically for the visual effects, animation and video game industries, allowing all parties involved in a project instant access to critical data, messaging and real-time project progress. Available to license as a hosted (SaaS) or installed application, studios of all sizes can benefit from Shotgun-managed pipelines.

Integration Partners

PipelineFX, makers of Qube! - the leading render farm management software for digital media creation, and Tweak Software, makers of RV - the next generation image and sequence viewer for VFX and animation artists, will be sharing booth space with Shotgun at SIGGRAPH and demonstrating integration between Shotgun, Qube! and RV. Together, these tools address render farm management, production tracking, and media review.

Shotgun Open Source Project

Shotgun will launch a new Open Source Project at SIGGRAPH for tools, extensions and add-ons for the Shotgun application framework. This new program enables Shotgun and their customers to collaborate on future pipeline integration tools and share them with the entire Shotgun community.

Upon launch, code from both third party developers and high profile studios will be available, including:

· C++ API Wrapper from Tippett Studio

· Python API from Shotgun

· Java API from Shotgun

· File Uploader from Laika Studio

· RV Integration from Tweak Software

· cineSync Integration from cineSync

· Event Driven Trigger Framework from Shotgun

"We recognize it is not practical to build a single 'pipeline in a box' that works for all studios. Instead, we're building an application framework and an open-sourced 'box of pipeline parts' that provides a growing suite of tools that studios can use to quickly bootstrap together parts of their pipelines," said Don Parker, CEO Shotgun Software.

Shotgun 2.1 Preview

Shotgun will be previewing Version 2.1, the next major Shotgun release, which adds custom work schedules, linking to local files, multiple-file uploading, notifications for submitted versions, and customizable statuses to the system's robust set of production tracking and collaboration tools.

Throughout SIGGRAPH, Shotgun will feature guest client and partner presentations that demonstrate Shotgun workflows and integrations.
