REALVIZ has released its ImageModeler 3.5 for the Macintosh platform. A Windows XP/2000 version of the application is also slated for release in the first quarter of 2003. Using advanced algorithms, REALVIZ ImageModeler 3.5 extracts 3D information from photographs and helps users to measure and re-create accurate 3D models with realistic results. Compared to traditional 3D modeling applications, automatic texturing from photographs reduces the time necessary to create high-quality models. Additional features such as the ability to make point-to-point measurements and to create texture per object with the Unwrap Texture feature help users create models that suit their individual needs. The models and textures can then be exported to any major 3D animation package, including Maya, Lightwave 3D, Softimage, 3d studio max and Cinema 4D. ImageModeler is designed to be used for architectural purposes, photo-realistic backdrops, for human modeling, industrial design, animation and special effects, or for the creation of photo-realistic objects compatible with Web 3D formats. REALVIZ ImageModeler 3.5 is currently available for Mac OS X at a suggested price of US$750. Upgrades are also available for existing ImageModeler customers.
