Luxion Releases Updated KeyShot Plugins
Press release from Luxion:
Irvine, CALIFORNIA - Luxion, a leading developer of advanced 3D rendering and lighting technology and makers of KeyShot, the first real time ray tracing and global illumination program for 3D rendering and animation, has released version 1.3 of the KeyShot plugins for both Creo and Pro/ENGINEER 3D software packages.
These new plugins bring a whole new level of functionality to the workflow between Pro/ENGINEER, Creo and KeyShot. With this release users now have the ability to export a KeyShot .bip file without the need of having KeyShot installed. This complements the workflow through the entire design process allowing modelers to send a compact file format through the pipeline for rendering and animation.
“The new plugins provide designers and engineers a faster way to deliver models to one another.” said Thomas Teger, VP, Products and Strategy at Luxion. “With a one-button export of the KeyShot file directly from the Pro/ENGINEER or Creo interface, anyone can now output a KeyShot file, and that makes it a standard file format for any Pro/ENGINEER or CREO user. On top of that, the .bip file maintains the camera settings, assembly structure, part level appearance and the orientation of the model. It further speeds up the process and allows one to send files in the KeyShot format rather than having to share IP in form of actual geometry.”
Additional enhancements to the plugin include:
- Tessellation refinement
- Orientation of assembly upon import
- Use of part level appearances
- Optional use of assembly level appearances (Creo only)
- Ability to merge identical parts into one single material group
- Optional export of Pro/ENGINEER / Creo orientations
- Automatically launch KeyShot and import assembly when installed.
- Numerous bug fixes
