Kaydara Inc. is offering a free FBX-XSI plug-in to give users a seamless pathway to exchange 3D data between SOFTIMAGE|XSI, Kaydara MOTIONBUILDER and other Kaydara FBX partners. Kaydara's FBX is the most widely used 3D file interchange format (especially when working with motion-capture) for content creators wishing to acquire, author and re-purpose 3D and mixed media data. Kaydara FBX is a powerful platform-independent 3D authoring and interchange format that provides access to 3D content from a wide variety of applications and source material providers, according to Jean-Jacques Hermans, VP of marketing and business development for Kaydara, which is headquartered in Montréal. FBX is a binary file format that supports all the major 3D data elements, as well as 2D, audio and video media elements, plus users don't have to worry about inter-package compatibility. "The FBX-XSI plug-in offers users an invaluable asset for managing their migration from older technology 3D products to the SOFTIMAGE|XSI nonlinear 3D production environment," said Alan Waxenberg, third party business manager for Softimage. Kaydara FBX-XSI plug-in is free and available through Kaydara's Website, www.kaydara.com/fbx, and Softimage's Website, www.softimage.com.
