Exluna is currently beta testing Entropy 3.1, the first major upgrade for Exluna's groundbreaking new rendering system. The release, available in January 2002, will include a number of improvements such as a plug-in that integrates Entropy directly with Discreet's 3ds max and 3D Studio VIZ software, allowing advanced programmable shading and lighting, in addition to 3ds max network rendering. Entropy 3.1 also introduces new features such as depth of field and HDRI image-based lighting, as well as performance enhancements to significantly improve rendering speed, motion blur and sub-pixel (true) displacement. Along with the new features and 3ds max/3D Studio VIZ plug-in, will come a new price of $1750 per single or dual-CPU seat. New pricing will be effective January 1, 2002 and all customers who have purchased Entropy 3.0 any time before that date will receive the upgrade to 3.1 at no additional cost.
