At Macworld Expo this week, Electric Image announced that a professional version of its Amorphium real-time 3D sculpting and painting program would start shipping later this month. The new product, Amorphium PRO, builds upon its predecessor's real-time interface, while adding significant new modeling, animation and rendering capabilities that make it ideal for 3D artists, Web animators and graphic designers. New features such as morphing and animation capabilities with a keyframe-based timeline and support for virtually any number of objects, morph targets, lights, backgrounds and scene effects coupled with new rendering capabilities and an improved interface make Amorphium PRO a much more refined 3D application. In addition to those new features, Amorphium PRO now allows artists to save 3D objects and animations in Macromedia Flash format for distribution on the Web, or import into Macromedia Flash authoring software. "Amorphium's ability to create 3D objects in real-time using Photoshop-style brushes made it a big hit for graphic artists and 3D newcomers," Electric Image CEO Dwight Parscale said. "For Amorphium PRO, we integrated this intuitive approach with more robust design and Web animation tools. It's simply the easiest and fastest way to create professional-quality 3D graphics."
