TDK Mediactive Inc., a global publisher of entertainment software, has announced theyve begun development on a new title for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance system based on the mega-hit DreamWorks film, SHREK. The title, scheduled for a spring 2002 release, will feature characters from the movie in a kart race. "The response to SHREK both as a feature film and video game has been tremendous," said Vincent Bitetti, chief executive officer of TDK Mediactive. "Our first SHREK title, SHREK FAIRY TALE FREAKDOWN, is a top selling Game Boy Color game, and SHREK for the Xbox video game system has already received positive previews and strong consumer interest. With so much momentum for this franchise, we are pleased to announce our first SHREK title for the Game Boy Advance." Brad Globe, head of DreamWorks Consumer Products, said, "The new Game Boy Advance title will be a great addition to an already impressive line from TDK. We're pleased to have a top-selling Game Boy Color title in SHREK FAIRY TALE FREAKDOWN and are looking forward to continuing the SHREK franchise."
