Leading rights management group Target Entertainment is launching over 100 hours of new programming at MIPTV across its portfolio of factual, entertainment, lifestyle, drama, formats and kids programming.

London:  Leading rights management group Target Entertainment is launching over 100 hours of new programming at MIPTV across its portfolio of factual, entertainment, lifestyle, drama, formats and kids programming.

Highlights from the eclectic mix of new quality shows include: East West 101 (series 3), a 7 x 60-minute drama series for ABC Australia from Knapman Wyld Television. The new series of the highly acclaimed show continues to explore the ramifications of the war in Iraq through crimes committed in Australia.

This joins Target’s latest major drama acquisition Crownies from Screentime Australia (producers of Underbelly). Currently in production in Sydney, the 22 x 1 hour show for ABC TV Australia is set in the heady, sometimes crazy but always challenging, world of the Department of Public Prosecution and its young, eager lawyers.

New from Target’s entertainment catalogue is On the Record with Fuse, a 30 x 30-minute chat show for Fuse Channel in which renowned music journalist Touré Neblett talks with some of the most provocative players in music today including Christina Aguilera, Jay Z, Lady Gaga and/or Rhianna, in a series of rare one-on-one interviews.

What Did I Do Last Night? is a 6 x 30-minute format for Current TV in the UK that shows a group of young men and women the shocking and disturbing footage of what they really got up to on a night out.

Kids programming continues to be high on the agenda for Target and the company is launching a brand new pre-school show at MIPTV The Abadas. The 52 x 11-minute interactive kids’ word show is produced by Dinamo Productions for CBeebies, S4C, BBC Alba (UK) and RTE (Eire) Kids.  Based in the magical world of a pop-up book, the show develops the themes of language, co-playing and independence through comedy, song and dance.

Heading Target’s new factual slate is Angels of Milot, a 1 x 60-minute special produced by Lovejoy Media and En Focus Media. The documentary charts the extraordinary work undertaken at Hôpital Sacré Coeur, an emergency medical centre set up following Haiti’s devastating earthquake. Target is selling the documentary internationally to raise funds for the hospital featured in the film, via its executive producer Ellen Lovejoy.

24 Hours to Kill is a compelling series which deconstructs and examines three of Ireland’s most shocking killings that sparked some of the most infamous murder trials in the country’s history. The 3 x 60-minute series is produced by TV3 Productions for TV3 (Eire).

Also produced by TV3 Productions is Stuart’s Kitchen (w/t), a 6 x 30-minute series for TV 3 (Eire). Already a celebrity chef in the US, Stuart O’Keefe returns home to Ireland for a brand new cooking show.

Police Interceptors series 4 (16 x 60 mins), produced by Raw Cut Television for Five in the UK is an all-action, location-based, observational crime series which puts the audience firmly in the passenger seat with one of the UK’s elite crime-fighting units.
