LONDON – 17th October 2011 – Target Entertainment is proud to announce that it has been appointed the exclusive global agent for Abadas, the fun new pre-school show where children learn language through play. The company will be responsible for global licensing, television sales and DVD, and the brand will be officially launched at Brand Licensing Europe 2011.
Created by Dinamo the studio responsible for the smash hit Rastamouse, Abadas is set to make history on 24th October 2011 when it launches simultaneously on networks in England (BBC Cbeebies), Scotland (BBC Alba), Wales (S4/C) and Ireland (RTÉ).
Each episode is introduced by a young boy named Ben who opens his magical pop-up book to look for his friends. Once opened, we enter the Abadas world where it’s playtime for the three adventurers Ela the Fox, Hari the Hippo and Seren the Bat who help children solve a highly visual word game by engaging them through song, dance and comedy. The property will resonate with parents because of its strong educational values and pre-school kids who will love the cute characters, catchy music and infectious movement which is encouraged in every episode.
Lindsay Pearl, Director of Licensing and Children's Acquisitions at Target Entertainment says, “Abadas is undoubtedly one of the most exciting pre-school licenses of recent years. It has all the key ingredients of a successful property – charming characters, strong educational values, song, dance and challenging yet entertaining play patterns. We also think it presents a massive international opportunity as the programming could be used in different territories as a tool to teach a child a second language.”
