TALES FROM THE CRYPT is returning to TV in a new planned series, reports Deadline.com. Gil Adler, producer of the original HBO CRYPT show, and Andrew Cosby, co-creator of Syfy's EUREKA, will produce the new ongoing series based on William M. Gaines' EC Comics title. The new hour-long series will take characters from the comics and put their stories in a modern context.

Adler and Cosby are looking to land the series on broadcast nets or basic cable, but are opening to landing co-production funding to produce the series ahead of a broadcast deal is in place.

Joel Eisenberg's Timothy Owens EMO Films manages the rights to the property for rightsholder William M. Gaines Agent, Inc., which is run by CRYPT creator's daughter Cathy Gaines Mifsud.

Articulus Ent.'s Steven Sawalich will also produce. Eisenberg is the exec producer and William Gaines' grandson Corey Mifsud is the associate producer.
