Mike Young Prods. begins production on a second season of its groundbreaking 3D, CGI animated character comedy, PET ALIEN. Taffy Ent. has ordered 26 new half-hour episodes (52x11) of the series aimed at kids 6-11 to feed the demand for new episodes now playing in more than 160 countries worldwide.
PET ALIEN is a screwball non sequitur character comedy featuring Tex Avery style physical gags. The series looks at a 12 year-olds life and relationships through alien eyes, specifically the eyes of Dinko, Gumpers, Flip, Swanky and Scruffy. These quirky characters take up residence with Earth boy Tommy Cadle. Realizing that Tommy is a bit of an underdog, the aliens try to help him in every aspect of his complicated pre-adolescent Earth life and, in the process, turn his existence inside out and upside down.
PET ALIEN is available via leading broadcasters throughout the world, such as CiTV and GMTV, TFI, KI.KA and was sold to Cartoon Network for distribution in all five of its feeds worldwide.
MYPs co-producers on PET ALIEN include Moonscoop, TF1 France; Crest, India; and Telegael, Ireland, adding KI.KA and Europool in Germany for the second season. The series is based on a property created by Jeff Muncy of John Doze Studios and is directed by Andrew Young.
