Syfy Developing Metadocs Series

Syfy is developing the drama script Metadocs, with co-producing partners Universal Cable Productions and FremantleMedia (American Idol, America’s Got Talent).

Press Release from Syfy

NEW YORK – September 20, 2010 – Syfy is developing the drama script Metadocs, with co-producing partners Universal Cable Productions and FremantleMedia (American Idol, America’s Got Talent).  The project will be produced by Landscape Films (Bob Cooper/Three Inches) and Platinum Studios (Scott Mitchell Rosenberg/Cowboys & Aliens), and written by Michael Chernuchin (Law & Order, L&O: Criminal Intent).

Based on the Antarctic Press comic book series created by Joe Dunn and Rod Espinoza and controlled by Platinum Studios, Metadocs follows a team of specialists tasked with treating a small percentage of the world’s population who have become ‘afflicted’ with extraordinary abilities -- how do you perform surgery on a man with unbreakable skin? The hypothetical becomes the actual as great powers now also come with great medical complications. Metadocs treats these patients when and where no other hospital can, using real world science and medicine.

Metadocs follows the recent partnership announcement between Syfy, Universal Cable Productions and FremantleMedia to co-produce the new series Ball & Chain, currently in development. Also produced by Landscape Films, both projects are a result of the first look deal FremantleMedia share with Bob Cooper.
