Susan Fleishman has been named evp, corporate communications, Warner Bros. Entertainment, responsible for overseeing and coordinating all corporate communications strategies and activities on a worldwide basis, including media relations (entertainment, business and general), employee communications (working with the Studios human resources team), governmental relations and executive communications. She will assumes her new post on Sept. 26, 2005.
We will look to Sue to help formulate and communicate, both internally and externally, our position on critical issues such as piracy, runaway production and First Amendment questions, said Barry M. Meyer, chairman/ceo, Warner Bros., to whom she will directly report. It is crucial that we have a knowledgeable, effective and respected voice representing us. Sue is a highly skilled communications professional with an impressive track record, added Alan Horn, president/coo, Warner Bros. Her excellent relationships with the press that cover our businesses and her background dealing with public, political and employee constituencies coupled with her spot-on instincts and judgment make her the natural choice to lead our companys corporate communications efforts.
Fleishman spent a decade at Universal Studios, holding a number of senior communications posts. In 2004, she became svp, community affairs, NBC Universal and corporate media affairs, Universal Studios. Previously she was svp, corporate communications and public affairs, having joined Universal in 1995 as exec director, corporate communications and public affairs.
Prior to Universal, Fleishman was director of communications at Rosen & Co. where she managed a diverse roster of entertainment and corporate accounts. Prior to that, she was director of public affairs for Sony Corp. of America, where she developed and managed public relations, community affairs and issues management programs. Before Sony, Fleishman was asst vp, public relations for Continental Insurance.
She is the vice chairman of the board of trustees of the Providence Saint Joseph Foundation. She is also a board member of Workplace Hollywood and a trustee of The Country School.
