SupperTime/Telegael to Develop Impossimal for TV

Telegael and SupperTime Entertainment are joining forces to co-develp the popular children’ characters of Impossimal for an animated pre-school TV show.

Press Release from Suppertime Entertainment

Los Angeles, CA  –  With the visibility of over 1.6 million art prints and two million greeting cards in the UK, plus more than thirteen million pounds in retail sales, an animated series seems to be the next logical step for the uniquely rotund and striped children’s “Impossimal” characters, created by Peter Smith and his wife Jayne.

Washington Green, the largest art publisher in Europe, is responsible for all current “Impossimals” fine art work and handles the creations of other renowned and popular artists like Salvador Dali, Rolf Harris, Bob Dylan and Ronnie Wood of Rolling Stones fame.  Original “Impossimal” canvas paintings have been collected by many music and theatrical celebrities including Sarah Jessica Parker.  Among the artist’s long list of awards is his appointment as the official artist for the “BBC Children in Need” campaign in 2005.

Ireland based Telegael is the lead producer on the project and has co-produced more than 600 hours of television, distributed to over 140 territories throughout the world and translated into more than 40 languages.  Their broadcaster list includes Disney, Discovery Kids, Super-RTL, ZDF, BBC, Nickelodeon, ITV, PBS Sprout and Cartoon Network.  Paul Cummins, CEO of Telegael, said that they were “very excited to be involved with such a great project, and were really impressed by the uniqueness of the designs”.

SupperTime will participate in the development from a U.S. perspective.  SupperTime president, Gerry Renert, has been EMMY-nominated three times for his co-creation of the ToddWorld preschool TV series.  He has also written for prime time U.S situation comedies and is a recipient of a “Mom’s Choice®” Gold Award and a Kirkus “Star of Remarkable Merit” for his published children’s books and storybook apps.  SupperTime principal, Liz Stahler, will manage the series merchandise and publishing, worldwide.
