Superights Picks Up ‘The Horn Quartet’

Pitched by French studio Vivement Lundi! at Cartoon Forum 2015, new half-hour animated preschool series adapted from the books by Yves Cotten is directed by Benjamin Botella.

PARIS -- Superights announced that they will be distributing The Horn Quartet. Pitched by French studio Vivement Lundi ! at Cartoon Forum last September, the half-hour program adapted from Yves Cotten’s books is written by Nathalie Dargent (Lulu Vroumette, Crafty Kids Club, Grenadine & Peppermint) and directed by Benjamin Botella (Welcome to Bric-a-Broc) with the participation of Canal+ and France 3 Bretagne.

The hybrid web series, 10 episodes of 3 minutes each, will allow preschoolers to learn more about the world of cows. This hybrid series, which brings together 2D animation and documentary, will be directed by Céline Dréan (Tell me Dimitri).

In the course of an amusing trip to the beach, four cows will discover freedom in an unknown world which extends beyond their meadow. This odyssey, full of adventures, burlesque encounters, arguments, reconciliations and discoveries, confronts each one and makes them imagine the worst that could happen. The herd is transformed, from being far too deep in their comfort zone, into an indomitable pack of friends, united and free.

“We feel very happy to bring this animated road-movie for preschool and family audiences to the international market. Not only the characters are very endearing but we believe the premises will find an echo around the globe. We love the unique concept of mixing genres, with fun (special) and educational content (web series), animation and hybrid content,” commented Morgann Favennec, Deputy MD in charge of international sales & acquisitions.
