Summit Ent. has secured the U.S. theatrical rights to I, ALEX CROSS, reports ComingSoon.net. The reboot of James Patterson franchise finds Tyler Perry playing forensic psychologist Alex Cross, who thwarts assassin Michael Sullivan (Matthew Fox), who then guns for Cross's family. Ed Burns takes the role of Cross's partner Tommy Kane. Rob Cohen is directing. Patterson and Kerry Williamson penned the screenplay with a revision from Marc Moss.
Morgan Freeman originated the Alex Cross role in KISS THE GIRLS and followed it up with ALONG CAME A SPIDER.
