New media film studio Hypnotic and Universal Pictures are inviting all aspiring filmmakers to participate in The Hypnotic Million Dollar Film Festival. Visitors to the site will vote for their favorite film amongst the 25 films in the festival, which will be selected by Hypnotic from the entries received. The five films receiving the most votes will be screened during the Sundance Film Festival in January 2001 where a panel of judges will announce the festival's Most Hypnotic Film. The winning film's director will receive a US$1 million development deal with Universal and Hypnotic. The studios have also committed to distribute the film through various channels on and offline.
