Stuttgart Fest Announces 2015 Animated Com Award Nominees

Animated Com Award offers prizes for applied animation in the categories of advertising, spatial communication and technology.

The nominees for the Animated Com Award at the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film 2015 have been selected.

With more than 85,000 visitors and 2.500 professionals each year, the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film (ITFS, May 5-10, 2015) is one of the biggest and most important animation festivals worldwide. Since 2011, the ITFS presents the Animated Com Award, with prizes for applied animation in the categories of advertising, spatial communication and technology.

The jury has chosen 50 high class films, from 141 submitted international productions, for this year's shortlist of the Animated Com Award. Ten of them were nominated for the three prize categories. Additionally Daimler AG awards the extra prize “Future needs Derivation – Mobility in a Digital World” and U. I. Lapp GmbH the “Lapp Connected Award.”

The award ceremony will take place as a gala event at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart on May 8, 2015. Among other highlights, keynote speaker Jörn Großhans, VFX Supervisor at Mackevision – recently Emmy-awarded for Game of Thrones – gives insights into his work.

The jury of the Animated Com Award consists of renowned experts from the animation and advertising industries: Dr. Martin Feyock (CEO of the advertising section for the board of German Producers Alliance

Film & Television, CEO of Exploitation Company TWF Trust Company and the German Academy of Advertisement), Prof. Thomas Hundt (CEO Jangled Nerves), Prof. Kathi Kaeppel (Creative Director, Animation Artist, Illustrator), Michael Preiswerk (Creative Director, Consultant), Florian Rederer (CEO SCHOKOLADE Filmproduktion GmbH) and Mate Steinforth (CEO Sehsucht Berlin).

The Shortlist program of the Animated Com Award will be shown on May 7, in the Gloria 2 cinema, Stuttgart.

The Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film (ITFS), May 5-10, 2015 was founded in 1982 and is one of the largest and most important festivals for animated film worldwide. Prize money of 50,000 Euros is awarded in numerous competition categories. The Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film works in close co-operation with the FMX, Europe’s biggest Conference on Animation, Effects, Games and Transmedia, attracting industry professionals. Together with the FMX the ITFS holds the business platform Animation Production Day.
