Studio B Staffs Up in Marketing & Production

Studio B Prods. Inc. has brought aboard Anthony Jiwa as the Vancouver animation house's new director of marketing and Kirsten Newlands has been named as head of production.

Jiwa was director of marketing at VIZ Media where he led marketing efforts for the company's publishing and home entertainment divisions, including such properties as POKÉMON, NARUTO and INUYASHA.

"Our plan is to build Studio B's properties across all platforms," said Blair Peters, Studio B partner. "With his experience in the entertainment and animation industries, Anthony is a welcome addition to the team. We look forward to his contributions in developing strategies for our properties in 2007 and beyond.

Newlands was producer on the first season of PUCCA. She began her career in feature film foreign sales before moving into production. Newlands associate produced feature films, most notably Garav Seth's PINK LUDOOS and Carl Bessai's SEVERED. She is a past board member of Women in Film & Video Vancouver.

"The head of production is a new position tasked with running an ambitious slate of productions," said Newlands. "The opportunities to realize and develop creative productions are huge at Studio B. I look forward to leading the team to achieve and surpass all of our production goals."
