Studio 2.0, a South Korean film studio and multimedia firm, has inked a video-on-demand agreement with RealNetworks Inc., according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. The deal will start in the Asia-Pacific region and will grow upon the reaction to the initial launch.
Studio 2.0 was formed when Korean filmmaker Tube Ent. merged with several media companies, which included Media 2.0, Film 2.0, Oi Music and Youngjin.com. Previously, Media 2.0 supplied VOD services in Korea, but the RealNetworks agreement adds the Real Player into the mix, making distribution available to a wider audience.
Tube Ent.'s most recent animated production was the raunchy comedy, AATCHI & SSIPAK.
