Studio 100 Brings ‘Wonderful Adventures of Nils’ to MIPCOM

Studio 100 Media heads to MIPCOM with their revived animated series, ‘The Wonderful Adventures of Nils.’

Munich, Germany -- Studio 100 Media GmbH will be headlining their slate of releases at this year’s MIPCOM with the new rejuvenated series The Wonderful Adventures of Nils (52 x 13’).

“Based on Swedish author Selma Lagerlöf’s novel, Nils Holgersson’s wonderful journey across Sweden, the original Nils Holgersson story was a great TV success when it first aired on NHK in 1980”, knows Patrick Elmendorff, Managing Director Studio 100 Media.  “I am looking forward, that the revived CGI animated TV series with its great new design and adventure-packed stories produced by Studio 100 Animation in Paris will be rich in its storytelling and stand out from the crowd due to its ‘extra’ cheeky appeal.  The Wonderful Adventures of Nils blends all the elements that children love – action, adventure, fantasy, fun and mystery. Its adventures will ensure that kids all over the world will love the antics of a mischievous and headstrong boy.  The TV series is currently in development and set for delivery in December 2016.”

The design is still work in progress, so Studio 100 Media will at MIPCOM offer an exclusive view into the actual drawing status. The series is going to get a unique CGI design, to be visually stunning with fresh colors, strong characters and to follow Nils and his faithful friend Martin the gander as they embark on the most extraordinary journey full of surprises and unexpected encounters.

Nils is a very active boy – reckless, daring, inventive and quite a rebel against authority.  His one dream is to fly high and fast!  One day a mischievous elf changes Nils into a miniature human with the skill to speak with animals. Despite his small size he thinks big, has an enormous heart and is made for adventure.  With his faithful friend Martin the gander Nils embarks on the most extraordinary journey among the wild geese.
