Students Create Animated Game For Edgar & Ellen

Flashpoint Academy students just created JUGGLE MANIA, an online Flash-based video game using assets from the EDGAR & ELLEN special "Nobody's Fools" provided by Star Farm Productions.

The fan-inspired EDGAR & ELLEN series airs on Nicktoons. JUGGLE MANIA debuted on the EDGAR & ELLEN website on April 1 and has already had international entries from the United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, Holland, Belgium, Finland, Ireland and Canada.

JUGGLE MANIA was designed for children ages 6-12 and will be on the EDGAR & ELLEN website (www.edgarandellen.com) all through April.

Students worked with the Game Development Chair Simeon Peebler, Executive Producers Howard A. Tullman and Paula Froehle and Producer Steven Berger to create the project.

Star Farm Productions SVP, Marketing, Colleen Fahey, was impressed: "Star Farm Productions provided the students with art and they provided creativity and humor," she said. "Now we have kids from a dozen countries playing the game."

Flashpoint, Chicago's first digital media arts college, offers two-year direct-to-industry training programs for high school graduates and adult learners interested in pursuing careers in game development, visual effects/animation, film and recording arts.

The 40-hour-per-week program includes classroom instruction in a brand new facility located in the Loop at 28 N. Clark. Flashpoint, The Academy of Media Arts and Sciences, is now accepting applications for fall 2008.

EDGAR & ELLEN, for ages 6 to 12, are pranksters extraordinaire who crave outrageous fun. The EDGAR & ELLEN animated series is produced by Star Farm Productions and Bardel Entertainment in association with YTV. It airs on Nicktoons Network US, YTV Canada, Nickelodeon UK, Nickelodeon International, MBC3 and ABC Kids Australia.

This multiple media phenomenon also appears in a six-book series with Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing and as a thriving online community.
