Aardman Animations might be forced to move the production of its upcoming pre-school series PLOO overseas, reports Deadline.com. Aardman is awaiting a decision from Chancellor George Osborne on whether the U.K. will begin issuing 15-20% tax credits like those available in Canada or France.

Animation UK is lobbying for the tax credit for children's animation. It would cost $29 million per year. Miles Bullough, head of broadcast of Aardman, said that moving the production to Ireland could save them 25% or Germany could save them 15-20%.

BBC has ordered the first season of the 52x5 series based on Mick Inkpen's children books.
